Cerec Dental Technology
Generally, the procedure of designing and implanting a tooth crown is a two-visit process. On the first visit, an impression of the tooth is made, the tooth is filed down, and a temporary crown in placed on the tooth. On the second visit, the actual and durable crown is permanently placed on the tooth.
With the new Cerec technology, Doctors Hanna and Weston are able to perform the procedure in one visit, eliminating the cost and time of the second visit. Cerec technology uses "Computer-assisted design – Computer-assisted manufacture" crowns, also known as "CAD-CAM". The crown is created on a computer to replace your exact tooth, superseding the middle-man manufacturer.
